New Orleans News, Articles and Links
FEBRUARY 20, 2008 - The most recent development in the world of social media is the launch of BigEasyLinks.com this week. The latest in a growing trend of niche social media sites to pop up, Big Easy Links offers users the ability to set up an account and begin adding links to news items, articles and sites related-to the city of New Orleans, also known as the Big Easy.
In a city where much of the pre-Katrina population has still not returned home, Big Easy Links hopes to help unite the city by providing New Orleanians with a forum to share news about the Big Easy and find out about the latest developments related-to the city and surrounding metropolitan area. Setting up an accout at Big Easy Links is completely free, and can be completed in under a minute.
The site's founder, Peter Egan Jr.; said that like most social media communities, spam is not welcome. However, he indicated that there may be plans for a Big Easy Links directory in the near future for New Orleans based businesses. "We hope to be adding a directory soon for New Orleans businesses to compliment the main site", Egan said.
